New Brunswick, N.J. (Sept. 21, 2020) – Elizabeth Matto, director of Rutgers University’s Center for Youth Political Participation (CYPP), is available to discuss voter participation in the November election, controversy surrounding mail-in ballots and youth participation ahead of National Voter Registration Day.
“All voters need to plan ahead if they want to vote in the election this fall. For young adults, that might mean registering for the first time or updating their voter registration to reflect their current address. What's most important is that all voters act now - deadlines are approaching and you can't vote if you're not registered.”
Matto, an associate research professor at Rutgers’ Eagleton Institute of Politics, is an expert on youth political participation, voter turnout and youth voter mobilization. CYPP is a unit of the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers-New Brunswick. The Center recently launched RU-Voting National, a new online resource helping college students around the country get updated voter information.
