Newswise — Sacramento State crisis communications expert, Dr. Andrew Stoner, thinks the Trump campaign made a huge mistake by not apologizing for Melania Trump's plagiarized speech. He thinks they could have used their mea culpa as an opportunity to restate the fact that they are "Washington outsiders."

Dr. Andrew Stoner is former newspaper journalist, and spent 15 years as a spokesperson for state agencies in Indiana, including a stint as the deputy press secretary for former Indiana Gov. Frank Lewis O'Bannon. A recent transplant to California, Dr. Stoner can also weigh in on Trump's choice of current governor Mike Pence as his vice presidential candidate. Dr. Stoner is very comfortable doing television, radio and print interviews. He's also a published author, and his new book, "Campaign Crossroads: Presidential Politics in Indiana from Lincoln to Obama," will come out later this year.
