Dr. Diane Illig, professor of sociology at Salisbury University and Safe Spaces program trainer, is available to speak to reporters via phone today regarding the Supreme Court’s landmark decision legalizing same-sex marriage.

Illig is a past president of the American Sociological Association’s Sociologists’ LGBTQ Caucus and is the chair and training coordinator for the Safe Spaces LGBTQI support program at SU. She also has served as a trainer for the program statewide and beyond through the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights. In addition, she has presented on lesbian and gay perspectives at the Gay and Lesbian Studies Conference at the University of North Carolina, Asheville, among others.
