On stand 352 at AACC 2018, Carville will be showing the latest technology in diffusion bonded, multi-layer plastic fluidic manifolds including microfluidics. These give the engineer the flexibility to design fluid paths in three dimensions, create mixing chambers, volumes and manifold valve mounts in a single, highly repeatable component. This reduces the need for tubes, connections and old-fashioned, cross-drilled manifolds, significantly reducing component count and overall costs.
Recent advances include smaller micro-fluidics and encapsulating various components such as membranes, foils and filters. This complements Carville’s core capability in precision machining of plastics.
