Newswise — Palm City, FL (May 17, 2016) Awareness Technology, manufacturer of diagnostic ELISA, CLIA, and Biochemistry instruments and reagents announces the worldwide launch of a new analyzer for measuring serum concentrations of sodium, potassium and chloride as a companion product to its line of biochemistry analyzers. Selectalyte, which is available both as a stand-alone instrument and as a module, was developed after many years of working with other similar devices and incorporating a number of significant improvements to ease of use, electrode stability, overall durability, precision, and convenience. The instrument and all its consumables, including a tri-level set of controls, are manufactured at Awareness Technology. All reagents and the waste container are supplied as a single pack having just one connector. Once installed, a reagent pack will last for 2 months or perform approximately 1200* tests, which is dependent on daily laboratory volume and the protocols used. The Remaining volume is constantly displayed. The operator can choose to perform a 2-point calibration upon demand or enable an automatic feature to maintain the instrument in a constant state of readiness. A single point calibration is performed with each reading. It takes about one minute to process and print results for all three electrolytes. Long-life, refillable electrodes are easy to install. The function of each electrode is self-monitored providing a warning when an electrode requires replacement. The operator follows simple instructions on a colored touch screen display to process samples, perform routine maintenance, store and recall results, monitor QC data with Levey-Jennings plots, or prepare instant reports to email for remote technical support.
