Newswise — Social Psychology Professor Yasser Payne from the Department of Black American Studies at the University of Delaware is available for interviews to discuss today's verdict of not guilty for Caesar Goodson Jr., the van driver in the Freddie Gray case in Baltimore.

Payne's interests include street violence, criminal justice and law enforcement and he has carried out research on the streets of Harlem and Wilmington, Delaware to name but a few.

He works in poor communities surveying opinions and studies the connections between prejudice, racism, crime and the criminal justice system. He also carries out research with law enforcement agencies and policy makers to complete the picture.

Payne is available to talk on the recent Gray verdict and last year's civil unrest in Baltimore.
