Newswise — Jessica Spaccio, a climatologist with the NOAA-funded Northeast Regional Climate Center at Cornell University, says the Northeast Region will have above normal temperatures in April, May and June. Spaccio says: “The entire Northeast Region has increased chances of above normal temperatures during these months. New England has the highest probability with a 60 to 70 percent chance of warmer than normal temperatures. “The Northeast has equal chances for above or below normal precipitation, indicating that near-normal amounts are expected. These outlooks are based on El Niño, which is weakening but still currently strong, dynamical models, and long-term trends.
