Teen Driving Safety Week is Oct. 21-27. Six teens ages 16 to 19 are killed every day from motor vehicle injuries, according to the CDC. Several experts from UAB have tips to keep teens safe as they hit the road, including:

  • Jessica Mirman, Ph.D., who can comment on how to decrease passenger distractions and utilize others who are riding with you
  • Despina Stavrinos, Ph.D., who can discuss the risks of texting while driving 
  • Benjamin McManus, Ph.D., who can talk about drowsy driving in teens due to overactivity
