Newswise — The Association of University Research Parks (AURP) announces that Ken Marcus, Director of the University of Arizona Science and Technology Park has been elected to the AURP Board of Directors. Marcus has been actively engaged with AURP since joining the association in 1999.

“It is our pleasure to welcome Ken Marcus,” said AURP President Kevin Byrne. “With his many years of experience at the University of Arizona Science and Technology Park and his long-time involvement with the association, Ken will be an excellent addition to the Board.”

Marcus began his career with the University of Arizona Science and Technology Park (UA Tech Park) in September 1999 as Controller, and was later promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of the UA Tech Park. Marcus is directly responsible for the finances and operations of the UA Tech Park and UA Bio Park, which includes lease negotiations, compliance, maintenance, building renewal, construction, and food operations. He sits on the Arizona Center for Innovation advisory board, a technology incubator where he provides finance and client facility support.

“Throughout my career, I’ve looked to AURP and the countless friends and colleagues I’ve met through the association for best practices and professional development,” said Marcus. “Now I look forward to serving on the Board and serving a membership that has played an important role in my professional life.”
