Newswise — The University of Delaware congratulates alumnus Joseph R. Biden Jr., vice president-elect of the United States. Biden is a 1965 graduate of UD, where he earned a bachelor's degree with a double major in history and political science.
UD has composed a website (http://www.udel.edu/ocm/biden/index.html) expressing the university community's pride in Biden. It features a slideshow of pictures, available for use by the media, of Biden's years of involvement with UD beginning with his days as a student.
UD can also proudly boast ties to Biden's wife, Jill Jacobs-Biden, who received her doctorate from the University of Delaware and former students David Plouffe, Barack Obama's campaign manager, and Steve Schmidt, John McCain's chief strategist.
