Newswise — (Kansas City, MO): The Vasculitis Foundation (VF) has announced its next webinar, ““Back To School with Vasculitis: Managing your drugs, treatments, social life, doctors’ appointments and oh yes, your classes!”

The webinar will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015, at 12:00 PM (Eastern) and is free and open to the public. However, registration is required: http://www.vasculitisfoundation.org/?p=139020.

Dr. Phil Seo, Director of the Vasculitis Center at Johns Hopkins, will lead the discussion with a focus on helping students manage their vasculitis during the school year. Dr. Seo has treated many pediatric/young adult patients and knows the issues facing them as they navigate their lives while managing their disease.

Joining Dr. Seo will be Brittni Riemer, who was diagnosed with vasculitis at the age of 13. She will share tips and her own experiences with successfully managing vasculitis while going to school. Brittni earned an associate’s degree in nursing and will start at Notre Dame University this fall to earn her bachelor of science in nursing degree.

Since 1986, the Vasculitis Foundation has empowered patients through disease education, raising awareness of vasculitis in the general public and medical community, and funding research to determine the cause, develop more effective treatments, and discover a cure. The VF is committed to improving the lives of current and future patients and is positioned as the definitive resource for patients, family members, medical professionals and researchers seeking information about vasculitis.
