Newswise — Article title: Local angiotensin 1-7 administration improves microvascular endothelial function in women who have had preeclampsia

Authors: Anna E. Stanhewicz, Lacy M. Alexander

From the authors: “These findings suggest that increasing [angiotensin 1-7] bioavailability mitigates residual microvascular dysfunction in postpartum women who have had preeclampsia, and that interventional approaches that target [angiotensin 1-7/Mas receptor pathways] may be viable strategies for the treatment and/or prevention of peripheral vascular dysfunction in these women.”

This study is highlighted as one of December's "best of the best" as part of the American Physiological Society's APSselect program.
