Newswise — The International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) announced today that it has transferred its eXtensible Open Router Platform (XORP) technology to XORP, Inc. (http://xorp.net), a startup founded by the leaders of the XORP.org project (http://xorp.org) and backed by two top-tier VC's, Onset Ventures and Highland Capital Partners. XORP, Inc. is led by network industry veteran and seasoned entrepreneur, Vivek Ragavan.

Today also marks the debut of the XORP 1.5 Release, the first community release of XORP to be made under the auspices of XORP, Inc. In a message to the XORP.org community, the company stated its commitment both to supporting the XORP.org community and code base and to building a successful open source business based on XORP.
