WHO/WHAT: The Northeastern University Center for Renewable Energy Technology (NUCRET) will host a 3-day series of international guest speakers, forums, scientific sessions and educational outreach programs titled "Energy Challenges for the New Millennium" . Guests include: Honorable Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former president of India; Dr. John P. Holdren, Science Advisor to President Barack Obama; Dr. Radha Jalan, CEO of ElectroChem, Inc.; Brad Bradshaw, Interim CEO, Hy9 Corporation and President of the Massachusetts Hydrogen Coalition; Philip Giudice, Commissioner, Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources; Karl Jessen, Economic Development Officer, Massachusetts Technology Collaborative Renewable Energy Trust; Dr. Linda Plano, Chair, Ignite Clean Energy Forum and Associate Director, Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center; Edward Kurth, CEO, GCK Technology, Inc. and Vice President, Lucid Energy Technologies, LLC; Rick Hess, CEO and President, Konarka Technologies; William Osborn, Founding Partner, Massachusetts Green Energy Fund Working closely with our collaborators around the world, NUCRET is dedicated to developing a suite of green energy technologies that will help meet global needs for clean energy and water. Forums will include: "Policy Forum on Renewable Energy Technology" , "Entrepreneurship Forum: Investment in Renewable Energy Technology" , and "Scientific Symposium: Materials Challenges for Clean Energy in the New Millennium" . Tuesday will feature a high school outreach event in collaboration with the Museum of Science.
