Sublett, M.D., Louisville, Kentucky, was installed president of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) at the ACAAI Annual Scientific Meeting in Atlanta on Nov. 10. Bryan L. Martin, DO, Columbus, Ohio, was elected ACAAI president-elect.

Other newly elected ACAAI officers are Stephen A. Tilles, MD, Seattle, Washington as vice president and Bradley E. Chipps, MD, Sacramento, California as treasurer. Regents elected for three-year terms include: Santiago E. Martinez, MD, Orlando, Florida; William S. Silvers, MD, Englewood, Colorado and Cherie Y. Zachary, MD, Bloomington, Minnesota.

Dr. James Sublett is the co-founder and managing partner of Family Allergy & Asthma, based in Louisville, Kentucky, with 24 offices throughout Louisville, Kentucky and Southern Indiana. He is clinical professor of pediatric allergy at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and is the founder and chairman of AllergyZone LLC.

This past year he served as ACAAI president-elect and has chaired the ACAAI’s Indoor Environment, Public Relations, Research Funding Review and Symposia Committees. He serves on the Board of Regents, Annual Program Committee, Executive Committee, Foundation Board and the Editorial Board for the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. Dr. Sublett has been honored with the Distinguished Fellow Award and the Bela Schick and Jean Chapman Lectureships.

He also serves on the Norton Healthcare Board of Directors and the University of Louisville Board of Overseers. Dr. Sublett is past president of the Joint Council of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the Kentucky Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the Greater Louisville Allergy Society.

Dr. Martin is the Associate Dean, Graduate Medical Education at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, where he is also the ACGME Designated Institutional Official; Associate Medical Director, University Hospital; Professor of Clinical Medicine and Pediatrics; and Program Director, Allergy Immunology Fellowship.

This past year he served as ACAAI vice president and chaired the Symposia Committee, Research Funding Review committee and he has co-chaired the Annual FIT Bowl Planning Committee since 1995. He serves on the Board of Regents, Annual Program Committee, Executive Committee, Foundation Board and the Editorial Board for the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. Dr. Martin has been honored with the ACAAI Distinguished Fellow Award.

Aside from his activities within ACAAI, Dr. Martin also serves on the board of directors for the Joint Council of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (JCAAI). Formerly, he served as a member of the FDA’s Allergenic Products Advisory Committee; chair, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s Residency Review Committee for allergy and immunology; consultant for the United States Army Surgeon General for allergy and clinical immunology; president of the Association of Uniformed Services Allergists-Immunologists, and the San Antonio Allergy Society, and was the Chair of the Allergy and Immunology Department of Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
