Newswise — Angelica Gierut, MD, has joined Loyola University Health System as a rheumatologist and as an assistant professor of rheumatology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She sees patients at the Loyola Outpatient Center and the Loyola Center for Health at Oakbrook Terrace.

Dr. Gierut specializes in general rheumatology. Her medical interests include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, vasculitis, scleroderma, psoriatic arthritis, gout, immunologic diseases and immunodeficiency.

Dr. Gierut comes to Loyola from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where she was a clinical instructor of rheumatology.

Dr. Gierut received her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She also completed her residency in internal medicine at Loyola and her fellowship in rheumatology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

In addition, Dr. Gierut is an accomplished researcher and a member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American Physician Scientists Association.
