Newswise — Hollis, NH July 28, 2015Parker Hannifin Corporation announces the release of the R9 Diaphragm Rocker Isolation Liquid Valve, a family of 9 mm valves that improves performance of Clinical Diagnostic, Analytical Chemistry and Agent Detection systems requiring precision fluid control. At just 9 mm wide it can be easily mounted over microplates eliminating transfer lines which improves performance and saves space. This compact valve offers the flow typical of a 16 mm valve in a 9 mm width. When mounted on a manifold the R9’s ultra-small footprint enables smaller and more efficient fluidic circuits by taking less space and shortening fluid channels. This valve also has low carryover and low internal volume with good particulate resistance. R9 valves are capable of a variety of flow and pressure ratings up to 100 psi (6.9 bar) supporting the use of smaller fluid passageways. This enables higher pressures thereby reducing fluid consumption and increasing throughput.

As OEMs are responding to their customers’ needs for smaller instruments, their system pressure ratings are increasing. This new valve series will enable more efficient designs that reduce fluid usage and increase throughput. As we listened to the future requirements of life science OEMs the need for simplified and compact instrument designs became clear.” says Don McNeil, Senior Product Manager for Parker Hannifin. The Parker R9 is ideal for applications such as in-vitro diagnostics, hematology, molecular diagnostics, flow cytometry, genomics, proteomics, liquid handling, sample preparation, chromatography and precision flow control.

“We are very excited about another addition to the Parker liquid product portfolio. To add to the recent launches, which include the Parker Smart Syringe Pump offering the highest performance in the smallest package on the market, and the R6 Diaphragm Isolation Valve, a 6.4mm valve that is also capable of being mounted at the point of dispense. These new products add to Parkers’ full line of liquid valves, liquid diaphragm pumps and motion systems. This expanded portfolio can provide the pumps and valves needed across today’s laboratory instrumentation, including sampling, reagent addition, wash, waste, and decontamination sub-systems.”
