Newswise — Changes in our economy have caused seismic shifts in family life.

More women with children under 18 are working full-time – and even serving as the primary breadwinners – than ever before. Young men are taking on more and more of the traditional family roles that once fell solely to women.

UD professor Bahira Trask has become a go-to source to comment on the effects of these changes and what they mean for our society.

The internationally-renowned Trask was recently named a prestigious fellow by the National Council on Family Relations, the nation’s premier professional association for the multidisciplinary understanding of families. She serves as a representative of the United Nations North American Expert Group and spoke at UN conferences in New York, Mexico, Switzerland, Qatar and Buenos Aires during the Twentieth Anniversary of the International Year of the Family in 2014.

She currently is involved in Expert Group Meetings focusing on the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
