Newswise — WILLIAMSBURG, VA – November 30, 2015 – AdvancePath Academics, Inc. (APA), a leading provider of K-12 Education solutions, today announced that on the heels of its recent acquisition of leading K-12 Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) company ScholarCentric, it has appointed Stanley H. Greene as its Chief Executive Officer. John Murray, Co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer, will remain with the company as its Executive Chairman.

With the integration of AdvancePath and ScholarCentric mostly completed Mr. Greene will lead the development of the most effective combination of Social-Emotional Learning assessments and Alternative Education solutions for K-12 students in the world. This change will afford Mr. Murray the necessary time to focus on additional strategic growth initiatives.

Extensive research in the field of positive psychology concluded that a person’s ability to succeed academically is rooted in what they think about throughout the course of each day. AdvancePath, through its acquisition of ScholarCentric, has the only research-based and -validated tool (its “Root Cause” diagnostic) that can accurately assess a student’s mindset towards academic success BEFORE it begins to manifest itself in poor attendance, bad behavior and low grades. The Root Cause diagnostic provides Leading Indicators that enable Early Interventions, as opposed to playing Catch Up. This results in more cost effective deployment of resources, including human capital, and improved outcomes.

John Murray, AdvancePath’s Executive Chairman, said, “We are excited to have Stan on board for this phase of AdvancePath’s growth. He brings a wealth of business experience to our company and, in addition, he has a passion for the science behind academic resilience, and its role in enabling teachers and administrators to help their students succeed.”

Stan Greene, AdvancePath’s CEO, added, "Coming from a business perspective, I have seen firsthand the economic necessity of a well-educated workforce, with the resiliency and life-long learning skills to compete in our global economy. With a career spanning telecommunications, commercial enterprise, and government service, it is exciting to witness 21st century instruction at its best – in our AdvancePath Academies. AdvancePath brings over 30 years of validated research to bear on the issues that can impede student progress. AdvancePath gets it; providing breakthrough diagnostics and solutions that empower students and teachers. With AdvancePath, educational professionals can accurately identify a problem mindset BEFORE it negatively impacts a student’s attendance, behavior, and/or grades. The success of over 25,000 students in our nationally accredited, award-winning Blended Learning instructional environments attests to the wisdom behind the AdvancePath model. I am honored to have been asked by John to replace him as CEO, to be a part of the AdvancePath team and for the opportunity to work with some of this nation’s finest educational partners.”
