Johns Hopkins University economist Alessandro Rebucci is available to speak to media members about the U.S. Federal Reserve’s widely expected announcement in mid-December that it plans to raise its benchmark interest rate for the first time in nearly seven years.

An expert in monetary policy, international finance, and macroeconomics, Rebucci has served as an assistant professor on the research faculty of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School since 2013. He has been a contributing writer and an interview subject in media outlets such as The Economist, Financial Times, The Huffington Post, VoxEU, The Baltimore Sun, and Share Radio, and he has published numerous articles in leading journals of finance and economics.

Before arriving at Johns Hopkins, Rebucci held research and policy roles at the International Monetary Fund and the Inter-American Development Bank. He earned his doctorate in economics from Queen Mary College, University of London.
