Newswise — Red Bank – May 4, 2016 – The Riverview Rehabilitation Center, a state-of-the-art, 30-bed, inpatient physical rehabilitation facility located in Riverview Medical Center has, for the sixth time, been awarded a three-year term of accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for high inpatient standards and post-acute care.

Its superior services have earned the center the elite designation as Monmouth County’s only fully-accredited inpatient rehab facility. Additionally, it is one of only two centers in the state that is CARF-accredited for treating stroke patients.

“Accreditation assures the public that we have made a commitment to continually enhance the quality of our services and programs,” says Jorge Corzo, M.D., medical director of Riverview Rehabilitation Center. “We are proud to be one of the few accredited inpatient facilities in the state and will continue to work tirelessly to maintain the highest standard of care for our patients.”

A three-year accreditation by CARF means that the organization satisfies each of the CARF Accreditation Conditions and demonstrates substantial conformance to the standards. To receive accreditation, an organization must commit to quality improvement, focus on the unique needs of each person the provider serves, and monitor the results of services. This is achieved through an internal examination of its program and business practices, an on-site survey conducted by a team of expert practitioners, and implementation of an action plan for any improvement areas identified by the experts.
