Newswise — Exton, PA – August 30, 2016 - Education Management Solutions, LLC (EMS), a provider of integrated audio-video and simulation management technologies, congratulates the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) on the opening of their new National Center for Clinical Skills Testing (NCCST) location in Chicago, IL.

NCCST-Chicago joins NCCST-Philadelphia in providing osteopathic medical students with a venue to take the NBOME's COMLEX-USA Level 2-Performance Evaluation (PE) examination. The COMLEX-USA Level 2-PE is a one-day, seven-hour standardized assessment of fundamental clinical skills, including patient-physician communication and osteopathic manipulative treatment skills, in which each candidate encounters 12 standardized patients (SPs) in simulated ambulatory clinical settings.

"We chose Chicago for our second clinical skills testing location because of its great access to and from O'Hare International Airport," said NBOME President and CEO John R. Gimpel, DO, MEd. "This provides a very convenient option for students who travel from across the entire country to take our examination."

Both state-of-the-art centers are equipped with EMS' SIMULATIONiQ Enterprise clinical simulation management platform, allowing administrators to seamlessly manage every aspect of the testing environment, including scheduling, paging, audio-video recording, and assessment. SIMULATIONiQ Enterprise supports the COMLEX-USA Level 2-PE-style SOAP Note.

"For over a decade, EMS has been a proud supporter of NBOME's mission to protect the public by providing the means to assess competencies for osteopathic medicine and related health care professions," said Anurag Singh, EMS President and CEO. "We look forward to nurturing our longstanding relationship as they expand their capacity to train osteopathic practitioners across the country."

A ribbon cutting for the new Chicago testing center took place on August 26, 2016. The first group of licensure candidates were welcomed to the facility on August 1.
