Children’s Hospital Los Angeles physicians are onsite at this year’s American Society of Hematology annual meeting and are available to discuss research and treatment related to pediatric oncology, hematology and blood and marrow transplantation.

Deepa Bhojwani, MD, is available to discuss clinical trials for leukemia and lymphoma. Her research background is in relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) including studies of molecular pathways and identifying potential new therapeutic targets using high-throughput genomics. Dr. Bhojwani is director of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Program in the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at CHLA. She is also associate professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Thomas Coates, MD, is available to discuss basic and translational research related to sickle cell disease, hemoglobinopathy and transfusion-related iron overload. He is section head of Hematology in the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at CHLA. He is also professor of Pediatrics and Pathology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Paul Gaynon, MD, is available to discuss new therapeutic agents for the treatment of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). He is an attending physician in the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at CHLA. Dr Gaynon is also professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Julie Jaffray, MD, is available to discuss bleeding disorders and thrombosis, particularly related to children. She has a special interest in thrombosis related to children who are hospitalized or have central venous catheters. She is an attending physician in the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at CHLA. She is also assistant professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Michael Pulsipher, MD, is available to discuss allogeneic and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and CAR-T cell therapy. He is section head of Blood and Marrow Transplantation in the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at CHLA. He is also professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Guy Young, MD, is available to discuss clinical trials and new treatments for hemophilia and thrombosis. He is director of the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Program in the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at CHLA. He is also professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Alan Wayne, MD, is available to discuss targeted, immune-based and cellular therapies for leukemia and lymphoma, including CAR-T cell therapy. He is director of the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at CHLA. Dr Wayne is also associate director for Pediatric Oncology at USC Norris and professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.
