Sylvia Huang, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and expert in post-traumatic stress disorder at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and can speak about the effects of PTSD, including the stigma of seeking help, the suicidal thoughts that some with PTSD experience, and more.

Huang works with veterans, domestic and sexual violence survivors, children and patients with serious illness, such as cancer. She has spent several years working with veterans at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She is currently the director of psychology and counseling services at the Center for Palliative and Supportive Care at UAB.
