The College of Business at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will host a space commercialization workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Charger Union Theater on the UAH campus. The workshop is free and open to the public, and will feature two panel discussions and a keynote address from Kevin O’Connell, Director, Office of Space Commerce, U.S. Department of Commerce. 

Panel Discussion | 2 – 3:20 p.m.

"History of NASA and its Role in Space Commerce"
This panel discussion will explore the historical role of Presidential/Congressional leadership in human space exploration, as well as how industry might take more of a leadership role in the future. The panel will comprise the following:
- Brian Odom, Historian, Marshall Space Flight Center
- Robert Lightfoot Jr., President, LSINC, former Acting NASA Administrator and Director, MSFC
- Patrick Scheuermann, former Director, MSFC and Stennis Space Center
