Anesthesia Providers Convene to Discuss the 116th Congress, Regulatory and Legislative Solutions

Newswise — Park Ridge, Ill. – Focused on patients’ access to care and legislative and regulatory issues, the national organization representing nearly 53,000 nurse anesthetists, the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) is convening their Mid-Year Assembly in Washington, D.C., April 6-10, 2019.

A variety of speakers from Capitol Hill and public policy thought leaders will be sharing their knowledge with attendees during the five-day assembly. Speakers include the Honorable Alan D. Wheat, Nathan Gonzales, and Bradford Fitch, to name a few.

“Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are keenly interested in ensuring access to safe, quality anesthesia care for patients and the legislation surrounding these efforts,” said AANA President Garry Brydges, DNP, MBA, MSN, ACNP-BC, CRNA, FAAN. This assembly provides CRNAs with valuable information concerning regulatory issues, funding for the nurse anesthesia profession, and other public policy measures that CRNAs can use in their everyday anesthesia practice.”

The AANA Mid-Year Assembly is the largest advocacy meeting of CRNAs, with more than 1,000 nurse anesthetists expected to participate. The assembly educates attendees about the latest developments in healthcare policy and reimbursement
