Julio Carrión, an associate professor of Political Science andInternational Relations, is available to discuss the ongoing situation in Venezuela, where the power struggle between Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and Juan Guaidó has once again exploded. Guaidó has declared a "final phase" in the effort to oust Maduro and protesters have again taken to the streets. Carrión specializes in Latin American and Comparative Politics and is currently finishing a book on populism in the Andean countries. He teaches courses in Latin American Politics and data analysis for political science.
