Newswise — SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (PACE), the Greater Salisbury Committee and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce bring U.S. presidential hopefuls to the Eastern Shore through a new series, “Visits with the U.S. Presidential Candidates.”

The first guest is former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

Weld, who ran for vice president on the Libertarian ticket in 2016, is the first Republican to announce he will challenge President Donald Trump in the 2020 primary. He served as governor of Massachusetts from 1991-97.

The New York native is a member of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations and an associate member of the InterAction Council of Former Heads of State and Government. He currently is a partner at the Boston law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo.

Guests in the series will answer questions from a moderator, as well as the audience. Designated parking is in Camden Avenue Parking Lot F (Blackwell Hall Lot). Overflow parking will be in Dogwood Drive Parking Lot D (Guerreiri Student Union Lot).
