Maria Goranova, a scholar of strategic management, is available to discuss the Business Roundtable's recent revision to its definition of a corporation, one that puts less emphasis on shareholders. She is an associate professor in the Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. 

Goranova conducts research on shareholder empowerment and activism; executive pay and boards of directors; and the implications of corporate governance for strategic outcomes such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate diversification, and divestitures. She teaches courses in strategic management, corporate governance, and organization theory.

Goranova's research has been published in Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Business Ethics, Academy of Management Proceedings, and others. Her doctoral degree is from Syracuse University.
