WASHINGTON (Oct. 30, 2019) — November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and according to the American Cancer Society, more than 220,000 new cases of lung cancer are diagnosed each year. The George Washington University (GW) Cancer Center has various experts available who can speak on topics such as lung cancer diagnosis, treatment, and symptom management, as well as the impacts of substance use on incidence of lung cancer.

Faysal Haroun, MD, assistant professor of medicine at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, is a medical oncologist and an expert in novel therapeutics, such as immunotherapy and targeted treatments aimed at improving outcomes for patients.
