Newswise — The German Center for Research and Innovation’s Future Forum: Demystify A.I. will develop consensus on the differing transatlantic perspectives on AI, regulation and data privacy. Hear from experts like:

  • Beth Simone Noveck, former technology advisor to Barack Obama and David Cameron who now sits on Germany’s Digital Council
  • Christoph Luetge, Director of the controversial, Facebook-endowed Institute for Ethics in A.I. at the Technical University of Munich
  • Hilke Schellmann, German-born Wall Street Journal reporter and Emmy-award winner investigating how A.I. and bias are affecting who gets jobs

Attendees can gain new insights, perspectives and practical frameworks to discuss the challenges and opportunities AI presents to society. The Future Forum will conclude with the founding of the Transatlantic Trustworthy A.I. Council, a multilateral framework for ethical A.I. progress to be chaired by Future Forum speakers.

A Harvard Business Review study confirmed that no culture values data protection more than the Germans. So how do the US’s largest and most successful companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple navigate expansion in Germany, the world’s fourth largest economy? What lessons about data privacy and regulation can the US learn from our European allies? How is A.I. being used globally to combat climate change and improve healthcare?

These are a sampling of the types of topics to be handled at the Future Forum: Demystify A.I. The Future Forum convenes twenty-two German and American expert speakers on artificial intelligence and 130 informed attendees. Expert German and American speakers include tech industry gatekeepers and researchers, early adopters, regulators, journalists and even activists and skeptics.

We welcome solicitations from journalists, scientists, researchers and policy-makers with an interest or expertise in A.I. Attendance is free following application acceptance. The short application is found at futureforumnyc.org
