Newswise — CHICAGO (November 27, 2019): The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) Past-President Michele Cournan, on behalf of the ARN Board of Directors, awarded Donna Williams, RN MSN CRRN, the 2019 Distinguished Service Award. The award was presented at REACH 2019, ARN’s Annual Educational Conference, held November 6 - 9 in Columbus, OH.

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to rehabilitation nursing and to ARN and is not presented every year.

Donna was nominated and received overwhelming support from the Board of Directors to receive this prestigious award. She has a rich history of leadership and participation in every aspect of ARN, including

  • Service on the Board of Directors, including as a past president in 2001-02
  • RNF vice chair 2000-01
  • ARN member since 1985
  • Service on committees including Executive, Budget & Finance, Nominating & Leadership Development, and Fellowship Task Force
  • Member of the Northern California chapter, including as president in 2019
  • One of the authors of the 8th edition Core Curriculum
