Newswise — Olin College of Engineering welcomes Bruce Herring to the Board of Trustees. Herring is a former senior executive at Fidelity Investments and his career in investment management and advising spans over 30 years. He is currently a member of the Olin College investment  committee.

Herring is the former president and chief investment officer of Strategic Advisers, Inc. (SAI), a division of Fidelity. Prior to that role, Herring held various roles in leadership at Fidelity. As the group chief investments officer of Fidelity’s equity division, he oversaw international and  domestic funds, portfolio management teams and investment offices in London and Hong Kong. Previously, he ran sector-based, regional non-U.S., and U.S. equity portfolios as a portfolio manager. In addition, he directed research in Tokyo and the U.S.

Herring is currently vice chair of the board of trustees at Babson College and is a member of Babson’s executive committee. He has served as a Babson trustee for 13 years, during which time he has chaired the affordability task force, the investment committee and the  presidential search committee.

Herring earned his B.S. from Babson College and is a CFA charter holder.
