Newswise — (COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Nationwide Children’s Hospital has once again been named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, this year at number eight. The Honor Roll is a distinction awarded to only 10 children’s medical centers nationwide recognized by U.S. News as the “Best of the Best.”
The 2020-21 Honor Roll designation marks the seventh consecutive year Nationwide Children’s has received this recognition. The Honor Roll list is based on a hospital’s cumulative ranking in ten specialties evaluated by U.S. News. For the first time, Nationwide Children’s has seven of 10 specialties ranked in the Top 10.

The 14th annual rankings recognize the top 50 pediatric facilities across the U.S. in 10 pediatric specialties. Hospitals received points for being ranked in a specialty, and higher-ranking hospitals receive more points. The Best Children's Hospitals Honor Roll recognizes the 10 hospitals that received the most points overall.
U.S. News introduced the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings in 2007 to help families of children with rare or life-threatening illnesses find the best medical care available in consultation with their doctors and other medical professionals. The rankings are the most comprehensive source of quality-related information on U.S. pediatric hospitals.
The U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals rankings rely on clinical data and on an annual survey of pediatric specialists. The rankings methodology factors in patient outcomes, such as mortality and infection rates, as well as available clinical resources and compliance with best practices.
