Rutgers political science expert Ross Baker is available to discuss President Trump’s comments on Thursday regarding the idea of a delayed November presidential election.

“Americans went off to the polls to re-elect Abraham Lincoln in the midst of the Civil War and to re-elect Franklin Roosevelt in 1944 while World War II still raged,” said Baker. “We have voted in the midst of great national ordeals and the coronavirus is no exception. Tampering with a time-honored practice is a sinister and dangerous act that Americans should strongly oppose.”

Baker is a former research associate at the Brookings Institution who has served as a consultant and resident scholar for Democrats in the House and Senate.
