In a research lab in Germany, researchers are preparing to switch on a 52-foot wide fusion device called a stellarator, that could change the game in fusion energy. The world’s largest nuclear fusion machine could be fired up by the end of November. The research is reported in the journal Science.

Unlike its more popular cousin tokamak, only a handful of stellarators have been completed. This particular one, called the W7-X, took 19 years to construct.

As reported in Business Insider on November 1, 2015.
