Henry Raymond, associate professor in the department of biostatistics and epidemiology at Rutgers School of Public Health, is available to discuss the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest guidance to Americans fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

“While the CDC announcement today is welcome news, people should remember that the vaccines do not prevent infection;  rather, they reduce the risk that an infection will develop into COVID-19,” Raymond says.

“This is why mask-wearing and social distancing are still recommended in situations where unvaccinated and high-risk people are also present. It is important to stress the focus on small gatherings in which everyone included has been vaccinated as well.”
