Rutgers political scientist Ross Baker is available to discuss new legislation to be introduced today that will establish a 25th Amendment commission to assess the president's mental and physical capacity to hold office.
“U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin’s bill to impanel a committee of experts to evaluate the president’s fitness to remain in office will drive him into a steroid-fueled rage,” said Baker. “For that reason, this 25th Amendment-Lite approach is well-intentioned but doomed.”
Baker is a former research associate at the Brookings Institution who has served as a consultant and resident scholar for Democrats in the House and Senate. He is the author of Friend and Foe in the U.S. Senate and House and Senate.
