Michael Anestis, director of the New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center and associate professor at Rutgers School of Public Health, is available to discuss President Biden’s plan to address gun violence in the United States.

"The Biden administration has announced a series of initiatives aimed at addressing the many forms of gun violence impacting our nation. Their use of a data-driven, public health lens to inform the proposals is vital.  The most common forms of gun violence — firearm suicide and the shootings that so disproportionately impact Black and brown communities — are so often left out of the gun violence prevention conversation, but they are front and center in the ideas put forth in this announcement and, for that reason, today represents an extremely promising first step towards addressing gun violence."
