Perry Halkitis, dean of the Rutgers School of Public Health, is available to discuss the public health implications of President Trump’s positive test for coronavirus.
“The president’s positive test demonstrates the power of coronavirus as it does not discriminate against any persons,” said Halkitis. “His infection and likely that of others within his circle show the importance of the public health tools that are in place at the moment such as wearing masks, washing hands, social distancing, testing, cooperating with contact tracing, and isolating when we are sick or have been exposed to a confirmed or suspected case. As the pandemic continues to progress, we cannot become exhausted with these public health measures and must continue to protect the health of those around us.”
