A new book co-authored by a Western Illinois University homeland security researcher investigates the Islamic State (IS, also known as ISIS) and offers insights into the nature of the IS and what the international community can do to combat it.
"The Islamic State: Combating the Caliphate Without Borders" provides critical background information and analysis about the hybrid terror quasi-state's multifaceted activities and effects in the region and beyond, as well as measures to combat it, said WIU School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) Professor Dean Alexander.
