Theo Siegrist, a professor of chemical and biomedical engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, looks through the Euler cradle of an X-ray diffractometer. Siegrist will use this machine for structural analysis to examine the superconducting properties of a compound made of niobium, palladium, and either sulfur or selenium. This research is funded by the National Science Foundation.
