Re: Conflict between India and Pakistan
A Johns Hopkins University professor of anthropology and history is available to comment on the history of the conflict between India and Pakistan and how violence has affected the formation of South Asian nations and communities.
Gyanendra Pandey, chair of the Department of Anthropology, investigated the issue in his new book, "Remembering Partition: Violence, Nationalism & History in India," published in November by Cambridge University Press. Pandey is a founder of the Subaltern Studies group and the author of many publications, including "The Construction of Communalism in Colonial North India," and editor of "Hindus and Others: The Question of Identity in India Today."
