Children who participate in the program are offered a wide variety of materials and hands-on art projects in painting, drawing, collage and mixed media. The classes provide a strong supportive and creative atmosphere in which each child can explore his or her own creative expression while also developing age-appropriate skills. Children have the opportunity to work closely with art teachers at a ratio of one teacher for every nine students. Classes will be taught by SVA art education teaching assistants and supervised by a summer program director and an instructor from the Art Education Department. During the school year, SVA's Saturday Art for Kids program provides weekend classes for children in kindergarten through ninth grade.

The hours of the program are Monday through Friday, from 11 - 12:30pm at SVA's Westside building, located at 133 West 21 Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. The price for the two-week, ten-session program is $120. To register, please call 212.592.2560.
