Newswise — Eastpointe, MI - The American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) has elected NECABA Management Group’s President, Dr. Herbert G. Ford, as its Chairman of the Board. Ford had served as a board member since 1999. He is also the pastor of Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church in Southfield, Michigan.
“I met Virginia Ladd (AARDA’s Executive Director) years ago and she explained the work that AARDA does and it perked my interest. I was fascinated and I wanted to be involved. I also have a personal connection as I have a daughter who has multiple sclerosis,” said Ford.
Ford’s new role has a two-year tenure. One of his immediate goals is getting more minority organizations to participate with volunteerism and fundraising. He will continue to utilize his resources to raise funds and awareness for those struggling with autoimmune disease.
“I am ecstatic about Dr. Ford’s continued involvement with AARDA. His consistency, reliability and dedication to autoimmune disease awareness are unmatched. We look forward to building on our successes and exploring more research opportunities,” said Ladd.
