Here's a list of spring 2003 commencement speakers at colleges and universities across the country.

Harding University -- Searcy, AR May 10

Lynne V. Cheney, wife of Vice President Richard Cheney will speak at the ceremony. Mrs. Cheney's full bio can be accessed at http://www.whitehouse.gov/mrscheney/mcbio.html.

Hope College -- Holland, MI May 4

The College selects a member of its faculty to speak. This year, Professor of History Dr. Fred Johnson, will give the address.

Lebanon Valley College -- Annville, PA May 10

LVC draws their commencement speaker from their own ranks, by inviting the professor earning the top teaching award at the previous year's commencement to speak at the next ceremony. Nova Southeastern University -- Fort Lauderdale, FL May 3

Speaking at the commencement for the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences will be Dr. William Proctor, educator and member of Florida's State Board of Education.

Mansfield University -- Mansfield, PA May 3

Linda Chavez, a weekly columnist for USA Today and the former staff director of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights will speak at the ceremony. She is also author of Out of the Barrio: Toward a New Politics of Hispanic Assimilation and is president of the Center for Equal Opportunity in Washington D.C.

Rider University -- Lawrenceville, NJ May 16

The University will grant honorary degrees to Phelps "Flip" G. Schulke, photojournalist and personal photographer and chronicler of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and to Dr. Eric F. Wiechaus, professor of molecular biology at Princeton University and Noble Prize winner in physiology and medicine in 1995.

Roanoke College -- Salem, VA May 3 The address will be given by Dr. David L. Warren, president of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU). The college will also bestow an honorary degree posthumously to Fred Rogers, producer and host of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, who was originally scheduled to be the commencement speaker.

Saint Vincent College -- Latrobe, Pa May 10

Saint Vincent alumnus Dr. James J. Ragan, author, screenwriter, poet, professor and director of the Graduate Professional Writing Program at the University of Southern California will speak.

Texas Christian University -- Fort Worth, TX May 10

Chancellor Michael R. Ferrari, who retires May 31, will deliver the address.

University of Maine at Machias -- Machias, ME May 10

Francine Cousteau, president of The Cousteau Society of the United States, and widow of the underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau, will speak.

University of Denver -- Denver, CO June 7

Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton will speak for graduating Masters and doctoral candidates on June 9th and Brian Lamb, CEO of C-SPAN will be the speaker for the undergraduate ceremony on the 7th. For more information, visit http://www.du.edu/commencement/.

Wilkes University -- Wilkes-Barre, PA May 17
