University of Missouri-Columbia-- MO May 6

University of Richmond-- Richmond, VA May 7

Retiring Congressman Thomas J. Bliley, Jr., will give the commencement address. Bliley represented Virginia's seventh district for the past 20 years and also served as mayor of Richmond from 1970-77. Contact Brian Eckert at 804-287-6659 or [email protected].

Harding University-- Searcy, AR May 13

A 1942 alumnus and 50 year member of the board of trustees, Jim Bill McInteer, will address the graduating Harding seniors. During the ceremony, he will also receive his pin for 50 years of service to Harding. After serving more than 30 years as minister of West End Church of Christ in Nashville, TN, Mr. McInteer is currently the president of 21st Century Christian, Inc., a Christian bookstore and publishing company. Lebanon Valley College-- Annville, PA May 13

Susquehanna University-- Selinsgrove, PA May 14

Salisbury State University-- Salisbury, MD May 27

Dr. Marilyn Smith, director for the department of service learning, Corporation for National and Community Service, will speak at SU's graduation ceremony. Washington University in St. Louis-- MO May 19

Julian Bond, one of the nation's most respected civil rights leaders, will speak. Bond will also receive an honorary doctor of laws during the ceremony. Contact Judy Jasper at 314- 935-5230.

Washington and Jefferson College-- Washington, PA May 20

George Mitchell, former Maine U.S. Senator and Chairman of Peace Negotiations in Northern Ireland will speak and receive an honorary degree. Contact Matt Conn at 724- 223-6074.

University of Denver-- Colorado June 3

Roanoke College-- Salem, VA May 6

Mark Warner, an Alexandria telecommunications executive, chairman of the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges (VFIC) and former U.S. Senate candidate is the chosen commencement speaker. Mr. Warner was also a crucial player in the Tek.Xam development, a computer skills test for liberal arts majors designed by theVFIC.

Millsaps College-- Jackson, MS May 13

Edward Moyers, railroad boss and former CEO of Illinois Central Railroad is the speaker. He is presently building the largest railroad in South America. Contact Kevin Russell at 601-974-1012.

Hope College-- Holland, MI May 7

Chosen by the graduating class, Dr. C. Baars Bultman, associate professor of education at Hope, will address the class of 2000. He is also the brother of the college's president, Dr. James Bultman. Contact Greg Olgers at 616-395-7860.
