It was reported that 1,500 works of Nazi-looted art valued at $1.35 billion that were founded in a Munich apartment. The art work includes paintings by Pablo Picasso, Max Beckmann and Marc Chagall.

Clarence Epstein, director of the Max Stern Art Restitution Project, piloted by Concordia University (Montreal, Quebec, Canada), can offer insight into how these types of works were plundered during World War II and what it means for the art world to rediscover them.
