Parsons School of Design proudly presents "= =", an exhibition of thesis work from over 70 students of the MFA program in Design & Technology. The exhibition takes place at the School's two Greenwich Village galleries on 66 Fifth Avenue and 2 West 13th Street, opening on May 28th at 6 p.m. and running through June 6th.

"= =" represents the convergence of design and technology, and sheds new light on how the creative process and digital tools transform ideas into reality. The exhibition includes video installations, documentaries, soundscapes, animations, interactive narratives, multimedia educational tools, game design, narrative shorts, wireless applications, experimental multimedia, and physical computing.

Student Eduardo Matamoros' relative: stereochemistry is a musical composition inspired by the interaction of neurochemicals in the brain, which changes depending on where the listener stands. Alina Podkolinska's REACHing deals with the problem of integrating the non-dominant hand into computer use: in this prototype, explorers navigate a cityscape by moving wireless boxes, one in each hand. 3D Narrative: The Island of Misfit Toys, by Matthew Mohr, combines 'bullet-time' technology and a unique interactive display to tell an original story in six 'frozen moments'. By physically moving the screen around a vertical axis, the user explores each frozen moment looking for visual cues that ultimately reveal a narrative story.

"Our students have challenged both themselves and the field of digital technology with this year's innovative projects," says Digital Design Chair Sven Travis. "We're thrilled to introduce these works to the digital community."
