REQUESTING MEDIA CREDENTIALS FOR
DEC. 3 GORBACHEV PRESS CONFERENCE
AND LECTURE

When and Where: Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, Stegeman
Coliseum, University of Georgia
*Press Conference begins at 5:00 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum media room (lower concourse, at end of tunnel 2 off main coliseum floor).
*No admittance to press conference after 4:50 p.m.
*Media should request credentials no later than Thursday, Dec. 2, by faxing request on company letterhead to UGA News Service at 706-583- 0372. Request should include name and assigned duties of each reporter/photographer/technician to be credentialled. Credentials may be picked up beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Stegeman Coliseum will call window on the south side of the Coliseum (Smith at Rutherford Streets). Arrive at Coliseum in time to be in place in the media room no later than 4:50 p.m. First 15 minutes of press conference will be reserved for media questions. Second 15 minutes will be reserved for questions from invited students only; media should plan to remain in the room for the entire half-hour.
Open lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. A camera platform and mult-box will be provided for television cameras. Reserved seating for reporters will be on the main floor, front right as you face the stage. Mr. Gorbachev is not expected to take questions from the audience.
Television stations must make prior arrangements to park satellite or live trucks by calling UGA Broadcast News office at 706-542-8080.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Coliseum doors for general admission will open at 6:30 p.m.
